Previously believed widely to be a George Henry Gale, we now know he was George Herbert and was born in Belvedere in Kent, not as previously thought, Nottinghamshire, even though that was where he started his football career. Details all changed following contact from a relative who still has his medals that were won whilst at Chelsea and have been handed down through the family.
