As far as known, Cyril Bacon was with Hayes as an amateur originally, playing for Chelsea in the Second World War years in 10 matches (3 goals) plus 3 games in the War Cup. He is also known to have scored 3 games for the Reserves in the 1945/46 season.
He subsequently joined Leyton Orient – he may well have still been an amateur with Hayes at the time – and went on to play 118 games (3 goals) for them between 1946 and 1950 before moving to Brentford but it is not believed that he played first team football here.
At some stage he appears to have moved to America, as I found that he died in Florida on the 26th. March 2001 aged 81 years of age.
