Frank Wolff was an amateur player signed from Hull City prior to the start of Chelsea’s first season. He was registered with the FA on 5th May 1905. He had also previously been with Everton.

He was noted in the 1905/06 Handbook as being "A Chelseaite by birth"

There is some confusion concerning the correct spelling of his surname. He is listed in various Chelsea publications, including the 1905/06 handbook as Wolff, but was registered with the FA as Wolfe. it has also been shown elsewhere as Woolf.
